What is a possibility space?

Node ID: possibility_space

A possibility space is the decision-facing structure that shows multiple defensible pathways or interpretations supported by the governed evidence.

SDX does not recommend one option, choose a pathway, or replace institutional judgment. Instead, it makes the available space of defensible possibilities visible. Each possibility is bounded by the mandate, constrained by claim and non-use boundaries, and linked to evidence support.

This allows decision-makers to see what can be stated, how strongly it is supported, and where the limits are, without having to interpret complex analytical outputs themselves. The possibility space is therefore not a recommendation layer. It is a structured decision interface built from governed evidence.

The institution remains responsible for deciding. SDX provides the bounded material from which a decision can be scrutinized, discussed, challenged, or defended.
